Today, parents of children in Reception have watched a Phonics lesson and joined in a reading session with
their child. We hope parents found these sessions enjoyable and useful.
The PTA have organised a Bags 2 School collection for Monday 14th October. Please leave the bags outside
the village hall by 9am (please don’t bring bags into school). Thank you for your support with this fundraising
event.
A reminder that our Harvest Assemblies this year are taking place next week on Tuesday 15th October—
infants (Reception, year 1 & 2) at 9.30am and juniors (years 3,4,5 & 6) at 2.30pm in the school hall, all parents
welcome. Please park with consideration for the local residents if you are attending the assemblies. Junior
children & siblings may be taken home after the 2.30pm assembly. As part of harvest, we will be collecting
items for a food bank in Ilkley. Items that have been requested by the foodbank include –
Toilet rolls, cleaning products, sugar, flour, herbs & spices, cooking sauces, stock cubes, microwave rice / couscous packets, fruit cordial, sweets, chocolates, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner. Your support is greatly appreciated. Items can be left in the box in the playground at
drop off & pick up times, or in the school hall if using breakfast club and afterschool clubs.

Online parents evenings for all children from nursery to year 6 will be taking place on Tuesday 22nd and Thursday 24th October, 2-6pm. Details of how to book your online appointment will be sent out next week.
A reminder to parents of children in year 6 that the deadline to apply for a secondary school place is 31st October. Please contact your preferred secondary school for information about open day events.
