Nursery Admissions

Children are able to join Askwith Primary School Nursery the term following their third birthday.

The nursery is part of the school so is only open during school term times, term dates are on the school website.
All children over the age of 3 are entitled to 15 hours universal childcare, which equates to 5 x 3 hour sessions at Askwith nursery. The morning session is 9.00am – 12.00pm, lunchtime is 12.00pm – 12.30pm, and the afternoon session is 12.30pm – 3.30pm. Nursery children are also eligible to access Breakfast Club from 8.00am (£2.30 per session) and Cedar Club (after school) until 5.30pm (costs can be found here).

The cost of supervision for the 30 minutes at lunchtime is £2.00. Children may bring a packed lunch or have a school lunch, the cost of a nursery school lunch is £2.40 (plus the cost of supervision = £4.40) The children eat their school lunch in the school hall and are helped to eat by the staff and are encouraged to try new food. Please let us know if your child has any food allergies.

In addition to the 15 hours, if there is space parents may also book extra sessions, an extra 3 hour session is £12 and should be booked in advance for the whole term.
From September 2017, the government introduced 30 hours extended childcare entitlement. Families who fulfil the criteria will be able to claim a further 15 hours funded childcare, up to 30 hours. Please ask for details of how to claim the extended childcare. We hope to be able to provide all families with the childcare they need, but places at Askwith Primary School Nursery are limited, so please register your child as soon as possible. Please complete and return the attached form.

If you would like more information about our nursery, please contact Mrs Bentley in the office.
