Global Themes and Texts

We have six different global themes:

• being just
• being aware of others
• being sustainable
• being democratic
• being peaceful
• being aware of human rights.

These themes are discussed in assemblies/family groups and they are threaded through our curriculum. The themes are reinforced in different subjects throughout the year and across all areas. These texts also provide opportunities for children to hear and discuss tier 2 vocabulary to develop their language. The themes are also reinforced through core texts which are read daily by the teacher in class story time.
