Homework has an important role in supporting and consolidating pupils' learning and providing opportunities for pupils to extend and deepen their thinking. Homework in Reception
· Phonics homework will be sent home each week from the beginning of autumn 2
· Phonics and maths homework will be sent home each week from the beginning of the spring term
· Homework will be a consolidation of work covered that week and will be suited to children's individual needs
· Homework should be written in pencil
· Homework should be returned on a Wednesday and new homework will be issued on a Friday
Homework in KS1
· English and maths homework will be sent home each week
· Additional homework supporting other subjects may be sent home where or when required
· Homework will be a consolidation of work covered that week and will be suited to children’s individual needs
· Homework should be written in pencil
· Homework should be returned on a Wednesday and new homework will be issued on a Friday
· In addition, weekly spellings will be sent home on Friday and spelling tests take place on Wednesday
