13th November 2025

On Monday, our cleaner Tracy, who is a retired Army Captain with 25 years service and has done tours of Cyprus, Germany, Northern Ireland, Bosnia and Iraq, came into school to talk to the children about the role of the armed forces and why Remembrance Day is important.
A reminder about our busy day tomorrow:
Worksharing—For parents of children in years 3, 4, 5 and 6. Parents are invited to come into school 9.15-9.45am or 2.30-3.15pm to look at your child’s books with them in the school hall. No need to book. Please sign in at the school hall when you arrive. (Please note, parents of children in year 6 will need to come in the
afternoon as year 6 will be out at a Pantomime rehearsal in the morning.)
Children in Need Day—To support this wonderful charity, we will be holding a bake sale. Home made and shop bought cakes / buns / tray bakes can please be brought to school on the day and will be sold for 30p each at break times to the children. Any remaining cake will be sold at the end of the day. Please—NO NUTS!
Odd Socks Day-To mark the end of anti-bullying week, children are invited to come to school in odd socks to highlight the importance of kindness and respect for differences and that bullying is never acceptable at our school.
On Tuesday 18th November, we all holding an Open Day between 2-5pm. We have had a lot of interest in this event so the car park may be busy when you come to collect your children. Please park with consideration for the local residents if you need to park on the roads in the village. Parents of nursery children are welcome to attend or can arrange to have a tour of the school and a chat with myself on a different day.
Parents of children in years Nursery, Reception, 1 and 2 are invited to ‘Come & Do Maths’ on Wednesday 19th November at 2.30pm. This is an opportunity for parents to see maths in action and find out how to support their child at home. No need to book.
Please see attached information from the PTA about the Otley Victorian Fayre Sunday 7th December and how to get involved.
