Our children’s physical health wellbeing

It is important that we help to get our children active again through daily physical activity, weekly PE and after-school sport.

Looking after physical health is key to supporting overall health and wellbeing, including mental health.

The ‘keeping ourselves physically healthy week‘ is an opportunity to further raise awareness of the many different ways and benefits related to maintaining physical health and wellbeing.

During this week, children have many new experiences to explore  physical health including:

*taster sessions in a range of different sports including tchoukball, orienteering, archery and fencing

*tasting a variety of new and different healthy foods

*sports sessions with an elite athlete  Ayaz Bhuta – Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby Athlete

Phunky Foods

At Askwith Primary School, we know that it is incredibly important for children to have a good understanding of how to lead a healthy lifestyle. We have partnered up with Phunky Foods to enhance our healthy eating education.

Beth, our healthy eating expert comes to visit us to run workshops with children and parents, present assemblies with our healthy eating ambassadors and to provide training for teachers.
