The children in Year 1 and 2 had a wonderfully creative day visiting Leeds Art Gallery. They were colour detectives in the gallery and also created a huge piece of collaborative artwork inspired by the summer time! |
Owl Babies | Visit from an Imaam |
Year 1 and 2 had a visit from birds of prey. They had the chance to hold the birds and watch them fly around the hall. | To enhance our RE learning the children in Year 1 and 2 had a visit from an Imaam to teach them more about the Islamic religion. The children learnt lots and had a lovely morning. |
Caterpillars becoming butterflies | Chick Visit |
In Science the children are learning about life cycles. They have enjoyed caring for many animals this term. They looked after caterpillars and released them when they had changed into butterflies and they have really enjoyed a visit from some very soft and noisy little chicks.

Author, Christina Gabbitas, visited the children and shared her stories with the children. The children enjoyed learning all about waste plastic. | Year 2 have been exploring the properties of materials. The children enjoyed testing which materials had the best properties to protect us from the rain!” |
Taking care of our well-being
The children have been busy caring for their well-being and thinking about eating well, sleeping well, drinking well and moving well!
Learning about Islam
In RE, the children have really enjoyed learning about the Islamic religion and their special symbols.
Making Vehicles
In design technology the children learned how to design, make and evaluate their models of a fire fighting vehicle.
Planting seeds
Class 3 worked together in groups to plant seeds for their science investigation. They took care to ensure the seeds were well looked after with regular watering and sunlight.
Observational Sketching
The children were learning how to sketch objects. They used objects that they could see in the playground and they focused on looking closely at the different patterns and details of each object.
