Leading Others
Askwith Primary School was accredited as a cohort 1 Teaching School and National Support School in 2011. We formed the HART Teaching School Alliance and as the lead school have a strong track record in supporting school improvement across North Yorkshire, Leeds and Stockton.
We created the Yorkshire Collaborative Academy Trust (YCAT) in 2015.
We have four SLEs: English, Maths, SENCo and Leader of School Support who provide school support and CPD to the 46 HART member schools and also lead school support for the Trust’s 7 schools.
We are committed to improving learning for all pupils through a strong team approach and are passionate about the importance of applying evidence informed research to support a high quality curriculum that is built on expert knowledge.
Our alliance is a strategic partner of the Red Kite North Yorkshire Teaching Hub and we deliver training for the Hub SCITT and Early Career Framework programmes.
We also provide curriculum support to schools through our Trust’s National Leaders in Education who support the DFE school improvement offer.
We believe the changes in the new curriculum are the key to improving the quality of education for all children and will improve the life chances of children.
