Tomorrow, we are taking part in the Celebration of European Languages! Each class will choose a country and
immerse themselves in its customs and culture and learn a few useful phrases.
On Wednesday, a parent kindly came into school and gave the children an introduction into the Spanish
language. The younger children learnt greetings and colours; the older children had an introduction to Spanish
as well as learning about the flags and dialects from the different regions of Spain.
The PTA provide invaluable support to the school by raising funds, which as well as buying extra curricula
resources and laptops for the children, enable the cost of the KS2 swimming, all school trips and the Y5&6
residential to be kept as low as possible. To raise these funds, help is always needed! Please do get involved if
you can!
The PTA is busy organising this term’s events which include a Halloween disco for the children on Friday 16th
October and a stall at Otley Victorian Fayre on Sunday 6th December. If you are able to provide help with
these events (either at the events or with the preparations), please come along to the PTA Helpers’ Meeting
with myself on Monday 28th September at 3pm. If you can offer help but can’t make the meeting, please

Following my letter on Tuesday, thank you to all those who have already offered their time and expertise to
help enrich our curriculum. Your help is much appreciated.
New date for your diaries - On Monday 5th October we will be hosting a talk for parents about Online Safety
led by an industry expert, 3.45pm—4.15pm in the school hall. After school club will be free until the end of
this event. This may be particularly relevant for parents with children who have their own devices, but will be
of interest to all. The children will be having an age appropriate workshop earlier in the afternoon.
