3rd April 2025

Thank you to the PTA who organised the very popular Glow in the Dark disco on Friday, they raised £400!
Please find attached a further copy of the letter about the Ilkley and Otley Carnival Parades on Monday 5th May and Saturday 21st June. Thank you to all those who have already responded. If you would like to take part in either or both parades, please complete and return the forms or email the information to
askwith@ycatschools.co.uk, by tomorrow if possible. Paper copies of the letter were sent out last week, further paper copies are available from the office if needed. Donations towards the resources for the headdresses and props are greatly appreciated by the PTA.
Thankyou to all those who brought and bought cakes for Red Nose Day, a wonderful £64.12 was raised.
There are 3 plastic boxes in the office which were brought in on Red Nose Day, please claim if they are yours.
There have been some fantastic entries for this years Design Technology Challenge—design a speed awareness safety sign. The entries were judged by three local residents. Chocolate prizes will be given to first, second and third places in each year tomorrow. Well done all those who entered!
See attached the extra curricula newsletter for this term, including photographs from the residential trip
to Whitby.
Next term, we have lots of events planned for the children and many opportunities for parents and grandparents to come into school, including Worksharing, Come & Do Maths, the Creativity and Art
Exhibitions and the School Walk and PTA Barbeque. For details, see attached ‘Dates for your Diary’ for the summer term, further information will be provided about each event nearer the time.
Please also see attached details of the clubs that will be taking place when we return after Easter.
A request from class 1, if you have any age 2-3 clothes that you no longer need, please consider donating them to school. We are particularly low on clothes for boys, but any items will be gratefully received.
If any families have children who will turn 3 years old next school year and are interested in a nursery place, please request a registration form from the office. Our nursery is increasingly popular and only a few places remain for next academic year (2025-2026). Registration is now also open for the nursery for year 2026-2027.
A reminder that we close early for the Easter holiday tomorrow. Please collect nursery, reception and years 1 and 2 ~ 1.50-2.00pm, and years 3, 4, 5 and 6 ~ 2.00-2.10pm. If you have children in both age groups, please collect at the earlier time. The school buses will depart at 2pm.
I hope you all have an enjoyable break. School re-opens for the children on Tuesday 22nd April.
