The year 4 boys had further success in the cross country race on Saturday and were placed in the team category! Well done to all who took part. The next race is on Saturday 1st March, details attached.

Parents’ Evenings have been taking place this week. I hope those that have already had their appointment have found it to be useful. If anyone missed their appointment, please email the class teacher to make alternative arrangements.

Today, we have sadly said goodbye to our sports coach, Mr Rose. He has supported our teaching of the PE curriculum and the after school sports clubs for 3 years and will be greatly missed. Our new sports coach will join us after half term.
This week, we also say goodbye to the student teachers who have been working with the KS2 children, Mr Percival and Mr Wright. We hope they enjoy their next school placement.

After half term, there will be new playground outdoor display boards for the children to explore. Thank you to the PTA for funding these and some new non-fiction books. The support of the PTA is greatly appreciated.

Dates for your diary! The PTA are once again supporting our entries in both the Ilkley and Otley Carnival parades—Monday 5th May and Saturday 21st June respectively. Information to follow.
On Monday 3rd March, the children in years 3,4,5 and 6 will be enjoying a visit from Table Tennis England! The table tennis champions will run inspirational workshops and table tennis sessions with the children.

World Book Day this year is on Thursday 6th March. On that day, children may come to school dressed as their favourite literary character. We will also be holding a ‘book swap.’ If your child would like to take part, please send in a book which your child has enjoyed and is happy to give away and swap for a different book.
Books should be wrapped, with a tag attached, describing what the book is about. This will hopefully prevent ‘judging a book by its cover’. World Book Day book tokens have been handed out today and are valid from 13th February until 23rd March.
A reminder that we close tomorrow for half term at the usual times and reopen for the children on Tuesday 25th February.
