This week, the children have been finishing their Ilkley Carnival programme cover entries. All entries will be displayed in Booths supermarket in the run up to the carnival. Good luck children!
As last year, the PTA are once again leading our entry in the Ilkley carnival parade on Monday 5th May—a chance for all the family to take part! The theme of the whole carnival is ‘Ilkley Past, Present and Future’ and the theme for our parade entry is ‘The River Wharfe’. More information, including costume ideas, will be sent out soon. The PTA are also assisting with our entry into the Otley Carnival parade on Saturday 21st June. To help with planning, we will soon be inviting you to sign up for either or both carnival parades but for now,please just make a note of these dates.
Next week, the children in years 5 and 6 will be going away on a two night residential to Boggle Hole Youth Hostel near Whitby. We will share news of their adventures when we return!
As notified last week, our school lunch menu is changing after Easter. Please find attached a further copy of the new menu and the letter about how to order school lunches for after Easter. Please make choices for each of your children using the link below or the link on the letter. We will once again be raising money for the Red Nose Day charities by holding a bake sale. Home made or shop bought cakes can be brought into school on Friday 21st March and will be sold at break times for 20p each. Any remaining cake will be sold at pick up time in the playground. **Please do not send in items containing nuts or Nutella.**
The Design Technology Challenge this year is to design a speed awareness safety sign to remind drivers of speed limits past school. Children will be given a template and time in class to plan their designs. Your support in helping your child complete their design at home is greatly appreciated. All entries should please be brought into school on Thursday 3rd April for judging.
