The KS2 Art Exhibition on Wednesday show cased the skills and techniques the children have learnt this year. Displays included water colour painting, line drawing, printing, sewing, clay modelling, pencil shading and pointillism! Their beautiful sketch books were also on display. Thank you to all who were able to come and view the children’s work.
Thankyou to all those who have taken part in the ‘Grow a £1’ challenge. The market on Tuesday was a lovely event, many thanks to Joey for providing the music! We have been amazed at the amount of money raised and impressed with the variety of fund raising ideas. Please can any remaining ‘grown’ or ‘ungrown’ £1s please be returned tomorrow. The winner of the ‘Grow a £1’ challenge will be announced at the PTA barbeque.
We are greatly looking forward to the PTA summer walk and barbeque tomorrow. *Please note-the icecream van is cash only!* As communicated earlier in the week, please note the following for the walk:
• If your child is taking part in the walk, they may come to school on Friday in home / walking clothes / shoes. Please remember to send in sun hats, water bottles & sun cream. School bags etc may be left outside under the infant canopy to be collected after the walk, but school cannot accept any liability. It will not be possible to go back into school after the walk.
• The walk commences at the end of school. Parents may start to gather in the playground from 3.15pm.
Please park with consideration for the local residents. Dogs must not be brought into the playground.
• If your child is not taking part in the walk, you may collect them between 2.45-3.00pm
• Please inform Mrs Bentley if your child will not be travelling home on the school bus on Friday.

Our whole school ‘moving up day’ takes place next Thursday. Children will have the opportunity to visit their
new classroom and have sample lessons with their new teacher if they are moving, or learn about the responsibilities of being the older year group in the class if they are staying in the same classroom. I am pleased to confirm the teaching staff for next academic year will remain as this year, namely;

Miss Brierley—nursery & reception

Mrs Timiney—years 1 & 2

Miss Fox—years 3 & 4

Mrs Longford—years 5 & 6 (Mrs Nayler year 6 in the mornings) The teaching assistants will continue to work in a supportive role across the school.

A reminder to parents of children in year 2, that school lunches are not free from year 3 onwards. The price will continue to be £2.90 per day. If you think you may be entitled to Free School Meals, please complete the attached form and return to school (paper copies available from the office), or follow the instructions about applying on line. If you wish to change the days your child has school lunches, please email askwith@ycatschools.co.uk before the end of term.
We are currently finalising the nursery timetable for next school year. If you would like a place in our nursery for year 2025-2026, please get in touch with Mrs Bentley before the end of the term.
