19th September 2024

Thank you to all those who are using the new clubs booking system. Helpful tip, to avoid having to make a payment each time you book, simply pay an amount to put your account into credit.

Thankyou to all those who were able to attend the PTA Afternoon Tea event last week, it was a lovely way to start the PTA year! Last night was an open PTA meeting.

Thankyou to all those who came along to discuss the exciting plans for events this year. Many thanks to the PTA for all the money they raised last year, which benefitted every child in school.

Yesterday, the children had a ‘family group’ session in which they discussed which new equipment they would like, this will form the basis of a ‘wish list’ for PTA fundraising. The funds raised will also continue to subsidise the cost of school trips for all children and swimming lessons for the juniors.

As previously advertised, the Phonics and Reading Information Event for all parents of children in Reception to year 3 is taking place on Monday 23rd September. The event will inform you how phonics and reading is taught in school and how best to support your child. You can attend the event in person in the school hall at 3.45pm, or online at 6.30pm. If you would like to attend the online session, please email askwith@ycatschools.co.uk by 10am Monday and you will be sent a link. If you aren’t able to attend either event, it will be recorded and will be put onto the school website.

Next Friday, the 27th, is our Celebration of European Languages Day. During this day, there will be a range of activities throughout the school focusing on German, Spanish and French.

A reminder about the Curriculum Evening on Monday 30th September at 3.45pm in the school hall, or 6.30pm online. During this event, which is open to all a parents, the teachers and I will be informing you of our Curriculum Plans 2024-2025. Please do come along, all welcome. It will also be recorded.

A reminder that toys or teddies should not be brought to school. The only exception is for children in nursery and reception who have set ’show and tell’ days. At break times the children are encouraged to attend clubs or play together with the equipment we have in school. Space in the playground is also set aside for those who prefer to read or do colouring at break times.

A reminder that if your child uses the school bus service and you need to make a change to home time arrangements, please email both the office (askwith@ycatschools.co.uk) and your child’s class teacher.
