Thankyou to the PTA for organising another successful walk and barbeque on Friday! It was lovely
to see so many people involved! £310 was raised.
Thankyou also to all those who took part in the Grow a Pound challenge, an amazing £1829.97 was
raised by 44 children!! Thankyou too to those who bought items at the markets and made donations.
On Monday, we had a visit from the Cybervan from North Yorkshire Police. Children in years 3,4,5
and 6 were given tips on what to include in a good password and tested this to find out how long it
would take a hacker to crack—these ranged from seconds to millions of years! They then did a quiz
to test their knowledge on Cyber Safety.
On Wednesday, the whole school ‘moved up.’ The children spent time in their classes for next year.
For some, this involved being with a new teacher in a new classroom and others learnt about the
responsibilities of being the eldest year group in the classroom.
Whilst the warm weather continues next week, extreme temperatures are not expected, children
should therefore please resume wearing their school uniform. The published school menu will also
resume next week with the exception of Wednesday when chicken, pasta and veg sticks or a
vegetarian burger will be served.
Sue Knowles continues to provide an excellent uniform supply service to the school. If you need any
new items for the autumn term, please find attached a copy of the order form, which includes Sue’s
contact details. Unfortunately, due to supply issues, the stock of pink jumpers is now very limited
and there are only a few available in each age range. Children who have pink jumpers may continue to
wear them. The blue jumpers continue to be in plentiful supply.
The PTA will be holding ‘pre-loved’ uniform sales Wednesday and Thursday next week from 3.15pm
and Friday morning from 7.30am in the playground. All items priced at £1 each. Please bring cash
(change appreciated). If you have any uniform you wish to donate, please hand into the school office
tomorrow or Monday.
Please find attached a further copy of the term dates for 2026-2027. The dates for 2027-2028
have now been published by North Yorkshire, see copy attached. Term dates are also on the school
website. Parents are reminded not to take their children out of school during term time. Thank you
for your cooperation.
Please can all reading books and library books be returned to school by Monday at the latest.
PE kits will not be required next week.
A reminder that school closes early on Friday 17th July. Nursery, Reception, years 1 and 2 finish
at 1.45pm. Years 3,4,5 & 6 finish at 2pm or can be collected with younger siblings at 1.45pm. The
buses will depart at 2pm. **Parents of year 6, please be in the playground by 1.30pm ready for the
traditional year 6 leavers’ arch**
