30th April 2026

With the current sunny weather, please can all children bring a named bottle of suncream into school to be kept in their trays for the summer term. If the weather is due to be sunny, we expect
all children to come to school with sun cream already applied. Children in years 1-6 will be supervised whilst re-applying their own sun cream. A member of staff will re-apply sun cream for children in nursery and reception, if we have the appropriate consent from parents. If we think a child does not have sun cream on, or has no sun cream in school, we will keep them in the shade / inside if the
weather is very sunny. Sun hats for all children also recommended. In addition, whilst sandals are permitted, they must fasten on, no flip flops or slip on shoes please.
A reminder that all children should have a water bottle in school every day.
On Tuesday, the children in class 1 enjoyed a visit from Mrs Fraser, who is a dental nurse. The children learnt about the importance of cleaning teeth, eating healthy food and some interesting facts about teeth.
If your child needs to be absent from school due to illness, a reminder that parents should please contact school (via email, phone message or phone call) by 9am each day of the absence. A text will then be sent to parents to acknowledge the absence.
Final call for nursery places for 2026-2027—We will soon be planning the nursery for next year.
If you have a younger sibling and have not completed a registration form, please contact Mrs Bentley by Monday lunchtime. We have had a lot of interest in the nursery for next year and places are limited. In addition, if you are interested in a nursery place for 2027-2028 or later, please email askwith@ycatschools.co.uk with your child’s name, date of birth and anticipated start date.
A reminder that school is closed on Monday 4th May for the bank holiday. School re-opens on Tuesday 5th May. I hope you all have an enjoyable bank holiday weekend.
