9th October 2025

Thankyou to all those who visited our book fair last week and bought books! As a result of the book sales, over £300 has been given to us by Scholastic to spend on books. Books will be bought for every class.
Unfortunately, due to low uptake, the Curriculum Information Events today have been cancelled. Instead, we will prepare a recording for the website that can be accessed by all parents at their convenience.
Tomorrow is the ‘Come and Read’ event for parents of children in years Reception, 1 and 2. We are looking forward to sharing ways in which you can help your child to become a fluent reader at home and to develop a love of reading
Our Harvest assemblies are taking place on Tuesday 14th October. Parents of children in Reception, years 1 and 2 are invited to be seated in the school hall for 9.30am, parents of children in years 3, 4, 5 and 6 are invited for 2.30pm. The hall will open at 9.15am and 2.15pm respectively. As space is limited, please can the number of parents / grandparents watching be limited to two per family per performance. The assemblies usually last no more than 30 minutes. Children and younger siblings can be taken home after the junior
assembly. Please inform Mrs Bentley if this means your children will not be getting the bus home that day.
As last year, we will be collecting items for a local food bank. Items can be placed in the box in the hall from now until Thursday 16th October. If you wish to donate, please choose an item from this list: tinned meat; tinned stews; hotdogs; baked beans with sausages; chocolate spread; marmalade; honey’ rice pudding; custard; cooking oil; laundry liquid; washing up liquid. Many thanks for your support.
Online parents’ evenings for all children, from nursery to year 6, will take place on Monday 20th October and Thursday 23rd October 2.30-6.00pm. A letter was emailed out earlier this afternoon detailing how to book an appointment with your child’s teacher. The booking system will open at 4pm today and close at 9.30am on Monday 20th October.
It is important that we have upto date contact details for all parents, if you have recently changed your mobile number please inform Mrs Bentley.
On Friday 24th October, Tempest Photography will be in school to take individual photographs. If you have a nursery child who does not normally attend on a Friday, but you would like a photograph of them, you can bring them in for a prompt 9am photograph and then take them home.
